I'm pretty sure there's a non-canon gag scene where Oswald receives his Anima dragon, FREAKS THE HELL OUT, kills the poor thing and dies a painful death as a result, and wakes up resurrected with the same egg and a note from the Powers That Be saying "knock that shit off."

But if it leads to more fanservice moments with him getting bandaged and shippy moments with him and Gwendolyn, I won't complain.
