Rules

1. Enjoy yourself, and ensure others have fun too.

This means you understand the golden rule of RP and treat others well, and treat yourself well. Have fun, and be sure this fun doesn’t decrease someone's fun; ideally it increases and everyone has a good game.

2. Respect others.

Understand the boundaries and preferences others have, and respect them. Don’t godmode people’s characters, and when in doubt ask permission! Also harassing people is a no-go around here, as is slurs and hate speech; don’t do it. It’s advised you understand the warning signs of toxic/abusive behaviors in RP too, and don’t hesitate to report any of that stuff so we can act on it. NOTE that we give only one warning concerning toxic/abusive behavior, and any infraction past that is grounds for an instant ban.

3. Respect the setting.

This is designed to be a fantasy sandbox that you can explore at will, encounter monsters and new places, uncover lost treasures, etc. That said, some guidelines do exist; try not to cause widespread permanent damage to locations without plotting it out first, generally your character will not be finding super-powered treasures (without paying out a sum of SP for it) or discovering/using sci-fi tech at odds with the fantasy theme of the game.

4. Respect the Anima creatures.

Basically we ask that you remember the critters here are a main point of the game, and what they can and can’t do; they can use magic, have a powerful empathetic bond with your character, but are NOT sapient or that any single one is super special over everyone else.

5. Understand the rewards system and that it’s optional.

WE DO NOT RUN AN AC SYSTEM HERE. There is no strike system regarding AC, and the rewards system is purely a carrot system to motivate people to tag. Missing a month means that you don’t get Spirit Points for that month, nothing else. While it is possible to idle out, that’s only if 3 or more months without posts go by, and someone else wants to play the idled character.

6. We reserve the right to preemptively ban people for provable and terrible past behavior.

This refers to serious and damaging behavior, such as pushing triggering plots/concepts on players, stalking and/or harassing people through OOC/off-game communication, and causing stress and grief to other players. Provable means screencaps or chat transcripts (such as plurk paste bin) enough to demonstrate what’s a red flag.

7. Have some character info available.

Remember that not everyone has exposure to your character’s canon or knows all about them. There should be an entry somewhere on your character’s journal that details their personality, a bullet point history, any powers/abilities/curses etc the character has, and details on their bond creature. This is what our app process is all about, so that everyone has the same template for their character info, and any important details are conveyed well. To sum it up: Be kind, be thoughtful, and be open to communication. Recognize signs of toxic RP and behavior, respect other people and their characters, and keep it fun.
